But 1st of all please tell me whether it is an good option to do CWA after B.E. Prod.???

I m currently working in Manuf. Industry and dnt want to leave my stream so some people suggested me this option...

Is it a good option from my career perspective??? as I want to do something in Finance...

and if it is then I would like to take admission for CWA coming June under ICWAI's Pune Chapter...

Please Suggest me other options if any...

Go for it , Very good option . Can also go for Cima but its expensive. but CWA qualified get exemption  & waiver of certain fees . other courses will draw u out from production

to get correct perspective about cwa visit     icwai.org or www.managementaccountant.in or cmaindia.informe.com

good option especially when you have completed B.E in production. ICWAI is more about costing, operations/productions management & control, decision making and enterprise permormance management. so i guess you will have an edge over others since you have an engineering background and once you finish icwai it will be like a bonus. Go ahead buddy. best of luck...!!! for any feedback or assistance you can PM me...

thanks a lot guys.. btw if some one from finals can suggest me whether i should aply for inter1 1st or inter2 as inter 2 has OMS in it..... which is my core compitency as i m engg grad.. so will it be better to give inter2 1st to score better and gain some confidence as all these commercial terms will be a bit like alian to me??? so suggestions please... :) also i have heard that from next year onwards there will be entrance test forCWA??? CPT or CTP something like that sorry i dontknow exactly the name of this test.. is it true??? 2ndly what is the passing percentages for inter and finals??? as i have heard that the ICWAI passes 1 or atmax 2 percent of people and rest are failed??? why is it so???and how much should u score to paas the exam??? both inter 1,2 and finals1,2 ...

since you are a graduate u can directly apply to the institute for registration as a student for ICWAI Inter. Since there are two groups in ICWAI Inter you can answer both the groups in one attempt or take each group one at a time starting with Group I. The minimum passing percentage is 50% aggregate(Gr.I and II)  and minimum 40 % in any one subject. My advice please don't go by what others say, believe in yourself first and know your interest if you 'rnt intrested then go for that what interests you the most...regarding the commercial terms and jargons yes initially you will find it difficult coz you have a technical background, and thats normal. bye take a good decision.all the best to you!

being B.E u might get exemption in operations managemt do check with the institute

Engineering + CWA is a lethal combination. Go for it. You will find lot of IIT Grads who are CWA's, if you want me to put you on to them do let me know.

regards,

Dear Mr. Swaminathan,

I am a Mechanical engineer and currently in ICWAI Final groups. In June-09 i appreared for Stage-III exams. Currently i am working in ALSTOM Projects India Ltd as supply chain executive. At this stage pls advise me as to how to proceed regarding my job profile i should look for in manufacturing industry. Is supply chain is a good area for career growth ? or i should go for some other profile like project management ? pls advise me as i am little bit confuse.

If you manage to get a MNC and well know company then go for it.
