The MCA is extending the period for reserving company names and the deadlines for resubmitting various company forms.
For new company incorporations, names reserved for 20 days will see an extension of 20 days beyond May 3rd, 2020, if their expiry fell between March 15th and May 3rd, 2020.
For changing a company's name, which typically has a 60-day reservation period, names expiring between March 15th and May 3rd, 2020, will receive an additional 20 days beyond May 3rd, 2020.
Companies whose last date for resubmission (RSUB) falls between March 15th and May 3rd, 2020, will get an additional 15 days beyond May 3rd, 2020, for resubmission.
Yes, LLPs also benefit from extensions. For new incorporations or name changes with a 90-day reservation, names expiring between March 15th and May 3rd, 2020, get an extra 20 days beyond May 3rd. Resubmission deadlines for LLPs falling in the same period are extended by 15 days from May 3rd, 2020.
For SRNs already marked as NTBR, extensions will be provided on a case-to-case basis. Forms will not be marked NTBR due to non-resubmission during this extended period.
