Death is Most Beautiful: CA Dies by Suicide in Delhi Airbnb Using Helium Bought for Rs 3500

Last updated: 30 July 2025

In a deeply tragic incident, a 25-year-old man from Gurugram, Dheeraj Kansal, was found dead in a rented Airbnb flat in Delhi after allegedly inhaling helium gas in an apparent suicide, Delhi Police confirmed on Tuesday. The incident came to light after Kansal's long, emotionally charged note was discovered on his Facebook profile, in which he clearly stated that no one should be held responsible for his decision.

According to officials, Kansal had booked the Airbnb accommodation from July 20 to 28 and was living alone in the flat. Preliminary investigations revealed that he sourced helium gas worth Rs 3,500 from a supplier in Ghaziabad through IndiaMART. The gas was found in the apartment along with other evidence pointing to suicide.

In his Facebook note, Kansal wrote, "Death is the most beautiful part of life for me. Please do not be sad about my death. Suicide is not wrong because I have no responsibilities on me." The post revealed a profound sense of hopelessness, self-hatred, and emotional detachment, while also making it explicitly clear that "no one should be blamed" for his death.

Kansal, originally from Karnal, Haryana and raised in Delhi, mentioned he had struggled for years with feelings of inadequacy and failure despite efforts by people around him to help. "Every single person I met in my life was really kind to me," he noted, expressing gratitude but also describing his life as a lie. He wrote that he had no regrets, adding, "It's my choice, my life and my rules."

One of the key triggers in his emotional turmoil, according to the note, was the death of his grandmother, which left him severely depressed and unable to engage with the outside world. "I should have done this years ago," he wrote in reference to ending his life.

In his final wishes, Kansal requested that his money be donated to an orphanage or old-age home and expressed a desire for his organs to be donated. He even mentioned having left behind a physical note in case his online post was removed.

Over a month before the incident, Kansal had shared a cryptic poem titled "The Dust Remembers the Shape" on his Facebook page, reflecting themes of emotional detachment, existence, and the longing for peace-possibly an early indicator of his internal struggles.

Police are currently verifying the details of his Facebook post and coordinating with the Airbnb host and supplier of the gas for further investigation. Authorities have ruled out any foul play at this stage.

This tragic case once again highlights the importance of mental health awareness and the urgent need for accessible support systems for those silently battling depression and emotional distress.
