FAQ :
The Faridabad CGST officials discovered and busted a racket involved in the purchase and sale of illegal firecrackers without proper invoices.
Unaccounted cash amounting to Rs 50.88 lakh and firecrackers worth crores of rupees were seized.
The illegal firecrackers were stored in 21 godowns located in a remote, waterlogged area in village Baghola, District Palwal, Haryana.
Simultaneous searches were conducted, the premises were found to be full of fire-crackers, the goods were seized, and the premises were sealed.
Since October 10, 2022, the Haryana Government has prohibited the manufacturing, sale, and use of all types of firecrackers, except for green crackers, following Supreme Court and NGT orders.
This operation demonstrates the proactive role of CGST in preventing not only tax evasion but also protecting the environment, with the officials acting as 'Green Warriors'.
