The amount of Rs. 35,000 crore has been shown under the Demand for Grants No. 40, titled ‘Transfers to States’. The use of the Demand titled ‘Transfers to States’ in no way implies that expenditure cannot be incurred by the Centre.

Centre releases Rs. 8923.8 crore to Panchayats in 25 States in view of COVID-19 pandemic

Ministry of Finance released an amount of Rs. 8,923.8 crore to 25 States for providing grants to the Rural Local Bodies (RLBs). The grants are meant for all the three tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions – village, block and district.

RBI | Relaxation in OD facility for States Governments/UTs

The maximum number of days in a quarter on which State Governments/UTs can avail overdraft is being increased from 36 to 50 days and the number of consecutive days on which overdraft can be availed is being increased from 14 to 21 days.
