wrongly filing of income tax return u/s 142(1) without receiving of notice u/s 142(1).

Respected Sir/Madam

1.My friend filed individual return for A.Y.2017-18 u/s - 142(1) without receiving notice u/s 142(1).
2.return was e-verified through aadhar then it was transferred to A. O
3.now from A. O office notice came, to bring the notice u/S 142(1) with ITR
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT.
4.PLEASE SUGGEST WHAT TO DO IN THIS SITUATION. AND WHAT REPLY GIVE TO A. O.
