Vat registration for proprietorship firm while exporting

Hello experts, I have registration under the Shops and Establishments Act as sole propreitorship for an engineering consultancy business. I am partially into manufacturing as well, thus there is procurement at some stages in any financial year. The location of business is in Maharashtra. The annual procurement is well below the 10 lakh limit set by the VAT dept here. I have an IEC (Import Export Code) against my proprietorship through which I am planning to export the goods (Valued < 1 Lakh). The shipping bill to be sent will not have any VAT/TIN number, is there any requirement that it needs to be mentioned on the bill so that there is no objection from Customs while clearance?

As long as your shipping bill reflects correct IEC No there will be no issues. If it is first time export, it will be advisable to re-check whether all the details mentioned in your IEC matches with your current data.

Customs department has nothing to do with VAT. If you are not required to register under VAT, then you need not worry. IEC is what is important for Customs
