What is the rate of VAT (Sales Tax) in Maharashtra for Sale of Beer purchased from Registered and Unregistered Dealers.
There is an amendmend in the Budget which was applicable from 1.4.2011 but I have still some doubts in understanding the same related to alchoholic drinks.

As per the latest amendments in the schedule ,all liquors,except wines,are chargeable with 50% VAT. Wines are chargeable at 20% VAT .Pl check up whether beer is also in cluded in the group of liquors.
