Can anyone provide a list of the goods that are manufactured for the physically challenged (e.g. wheelchairs) and that are exempted under VAT Act? Thank you.

All equipments used by hadicapped persons are exempt from VAT under entry no 2 of first schedule in Karnataka. In the same way you have to check up your state Act on this point.......MJK

I also want to know if there are any VAT exemptions offered on the scooters with adaptation eg 2 wheelers with additional 2 wheels attached to it (for paraplegic people).
Where can I get this information? (I'm frm Maharashtra)

In Maharashtra also, as per entry No2 of Part A of schedule A' Aids and equipments used by hadicapped persons as notified ' are given exemption. I do not hav a copy of this notification . However ,I feel your item is also exempt because it is specially meant for handicapped persons.
