SURRENDER OF EXEMPTION

I had scored 63 arks in ISCA in May2012 final exams. I want to surrender it for Nov2012 exams.

1.  what is the procedure for surrender?

2.  It is written on icaiexam.icai.org that the student has to write an application along with affidavit . The surrender would  become valid only on receipt of CONFIRMATION LETTER. The candidates will have to submit copy of letter of exemption before 3 Sept 2012.

I want to know that since if i write an application to institute today i.e. 22Aug 2012 , will i get the CONFIRMATION LETTER before 3 Sept 2012 and then would i able to submit its copy before 3 Sept 2012 and if i do not get the confirmation letter before 3 Sept 2012 would my exemption be surrendered for Nov 2012 or not.

Why you want to surrender your exemption? I mean how can you imagine yourself studying a subject like ISCA all over again. Moreover the procedure for this sounds bit complicated and you dont really know when you will get a confirmation regarding this and may be by the time you get any intimation from institute exam will be just knocking at your door. I respect your confidence and ability but you never know how your paper may be corrected next time. In my Nov11 attempt i got very unexpected 19 in ISCA inspite of my best efforts And in May12 attempt i got 59 in ISCA and cleared my 2nd group. All i want to tell you is that in subject like ISCA you can't always get what you really deserve. Anyways its your decision and your career. Do what you think is best for you. Good luck.

Please dont offer for surrender of exemption.. It sounds kidding.. especially a subject like ISCA...

Dear Neha,

The surrender procedure is bit complicated, so its better to apply for surrender and keep asking institute about status of your surrender application on phone or on E-saahayaata, Its geart that you have such daring to surrrender a exemption. But note one point by Mr. Ashish, that we all dont know the marking system and proceedure of institute, ya you can ask for photocopy later but the response of institute for rechaking is very poor many time. so I will suggest you to apply for surrender and keep continuesly studying the subject, if it gets accepted then ok otherwise continue with your exemption.
