Hellow seniors,
I know my question is quite factual but asking for a general view.....
Having a PARTNERSHIP with your boss under whom you did your training is good......?

Answer is subjective but these are my views. Before entering into partnership with your boss, ask yourself the following questions:
1. Was your principal like a mentor to you during your articleship?
2. Is your principal interested in your growth personally?
3. Does he encourage you in taking more challenging assignments?
4. Were you satisfied in working with him and other colleagues and clients during your articleship period?
If you have answered all the four answers in affirmative, you can go ahead with joining as a partner with your principal. Else, think twice.
Positive points:
If you have joined after considering the above points, the following positives can be availed by you:
1. Good scope for learning which may help you if you start practice independently or you become the senior partner of that firm in the future.
2. You will be under the safety net of your principal if he is interested in your growth personally.
3. You will get the required confidence to face more challenging assignments and tasks in the future.
Negative points:
1. I cant guarantee whether you will get a lucrative pay in the begining if your firm is a small or a medium size firm. You have to negotiate it with your principal based on your needs.
2. During the initial period of your career as a partner, I dont think you will be sllowed to exercise powers equal to what your principal exercises.i.e. signing off financial statements on your own accord, appearing before IT authorities on your own.i.e in short, your level of independence may be limited in the initial years.
These are my individual views only. I may be wrong also. All the Best for your career:)
