Yes !!! it can be filled as belated return !!!
but don't expect to get full amount of refund as you mentioned in the IT return !!!

You can file return for the same and you will also get refund with interest
There is no provision in income tax regarding this issues. section 139(3) of Income tax prohibits carry forward of losses(other than losses under income from house property) if the return is not file with in time prescribed section 139(1). So a return can be filed for getting refund....
