The Carpenter`s House

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. His boss, a builder, asked him if he could build just one more house as a personal favour. The carpenter said, "Yes"; but his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials.

When the carpenter finished his work the builder handed the front-door key to him.

"This is your house,"he said,"my gift to you. "What a shame! if the carpenter had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well.

MORAL:

Whatever your life`s work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead and the unborn could do it no better.

The open Secret

A chartered Accountant, auditing a manufacturing plant, spots a worker carrying a wheelbarro covered with a cloth. The auditor is certain something is fishy. He asks the security to check the wheelbarrow.

Many surprise checks notwithstanding, the security finds nothing. On the last day of the audit the auditor goes to the worker and asks,

"Allright, i give up.

I know you are taking something.

I cannot prove it. I do not want to pursue it.

I just want to know what you are stealing?"

Pat comes the reply, "Wheelbarros."

Lesson: Whil auditing, expect the unexpected.

Do what your heart says:

A soldier was shocked at seeing his friend fall in battle. He asked his Captain for permission to bring his fallen comrade back.

"Okay." said the captain,"but I don`t think it will be worth it. Your friend is perhaps dead and you may throw your life away too."

The soldier went anyway. He reached his friend, hoisted him onto his shoulder and brought him back to the trench. The officer checked the wounded soldier and then told his friend:

"See, it wasn`t worth it. Your friend is dead". "It was worth it, you mean?" asked the Captain.

"True he is now dead. But when I got to him, he was stilla live and he told me....'Jim i knew you`d come'."

DO what your heart says....
