Yes. The TDS can be deposited in April 2012, but it has to be paid along with Interest which is as follows:-

a) If the TDS is not deducted, then Interest is charged @ 1% per month.

b) If the TDS is deducted, but there is a delay in depositing the TDS to the Government, then TDS is charged @ 1.5% per month.

SUPPOSE FOR AM EXAMPLE RS 30,000 TDS ON RENT  WAS TO BE DEPOSITED FOR FY 2011-2012 AND HAD NOT BEEN DEDUCTED AND DEPOSITED

WHAT IS THE AMOUT  TAHT IS REQIRE TO BE DEPOSITED ALONG WITH LATE INTERST IN APRIL'2012 AND WAHT IS THE LASTE DATE?

You can pay the TDS before filing the Income Tax Return of A.Y 2012-2013. If the TDS on Rent is not paid, then the Rent shall be disallowed u/s 40(a)(ia) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.  Rs. 33300 [Interest Calculation : Rs. 30000 x 1% x 11 months] is to be deposited.

It is assumed that TDS has not been deducted from April 2011.

hw to put entry in tally for the above said non deduction of tds and thereafter to pay tds during the financial year 2012 -13.

RENT  A/C  DR 300000

INTEREST ON TDS A/C DR 3000

TO PARTY'S A/C NAME CR  270000 (300000-30000)

TO TDS LAIBILITY  33000

ON PAYMENT (IN NEXT F Y )

TDS LAIBILITY A/C DR 33000

TO BANK A/C CR 33000

i completed my ca articleship on august 1999 and i cleared my intermediate first group on may 2002, after that i tried 2, 3 attempts then i left from ca. now i wish to continue my ca studies. what is the procedure to continue my ca studies. plz help me.
