Tds on rent 194i

Hi,

I just wanted to know for AY 11-12, if Rent paid for the year is Rs 180000 i.e Rs 15000 per month, will TDS be applicable? Or is it like it should be above Rs 180000 i.e Rs 180001 onwards for TDS to be applicable?

For the Fy 2011-12 , upto 180000 no need to deduct tds on rent as par as i know

So only for 180001 and above TDS needs to be deducted right?

yup that is correct. only above 180000

is it for FY 10-11 or FY 11-12? because upto june 30, 2010 rental limit is 120000 only thats why
