TDS from Salary considering self declaration by employee

Hello,

Please guide me, when company takes declaration from employee regarding investment and through out the year not deduct/deduct  tds considering self declaration of employee.

Now is it compulsory for employer that after getting self declaration also get the proof supporting that self declaration. If yes then relataed section if any, case study/decision  relating to this if any please provide.
