Hi,
I am selling my house for Rs. 1.5 crore located in TamilNadu. Can someone please help me with the TDS tax compliance that should be aligned between me and the buyer? What is the procedure and timelines for it? Thanks in advance.

Quick Summary
For property sale of 1.5 crore, Section 194-IA applies. Buyer must deduct 1% TDS, deposit via Form 26QB within 30 days, and issue Form 16B. Seller can claim this TDS against capital gains tax.

  • Section 194-IA applies as sale value is ₹1.5 crore

  • Buyer deducts TDS @ 1% (₹1.5 lakh)

  • TDS deposited via Form 26QB within 30 days

  • Form 16B issued to seller

  • Seller later adjusts TDS against capital gains tax

Thank you very much sir.
