, may i ask icai that what bad have we done that our services are rewarded with a GLORIOUS amount of 1000?? EATING A WEEK IN DELHI COSTS MORE THAN 1000 ,
I THINK ICAI HAS FORGOTTEN THE COST OF LIVING INDEX CONCEPT
I THINK WE SHOULD GET 3000 AS STARTING AND 2000 INCREMENT EVERY YEAR... atleast....

hey shobit , if u wanna more money as stipend then either leave CA or ur articleship , better to do job as ACCOUNTANT , and thn ur wish will be fulfilled .
We are not doing job in CA firms rather we have got opportunity for doing our CA training , PLS CLEAR THIS POINT.
Shobhit I am fully agree with you. Me is a Ranker in CA PII ,MCOM, doing CS and still feel ashamed while telling my stipend from my firm to any one.The CA course has big name but the trainees are paid very less and it is enough to demoralizes.I think ICAI should review its stipend as it is lower than minimum wages Act. Do you know The stipend received by CS trainee is more than CA trainee.It is high time to reconsider the packet of payment to articles.

I and all my collegue articles are totally agree with u and your point. We are treated like labour. We should make student union to tackle with such kind of problem.

i agree wid u shobhit....u know dear its jus Rs.40/day(Rs.1250/month).....even a street labour can't survive whole day....but we r living in 1949.....

For us its chanda but the ICAI always maintains a status quo, professionalism so, they call it as "STIPEND"....
I fully agree with shobith. Although we are "traineess" as it is said, we work day and night for the noble cause of increasing the bank balance of our firm.we are not demanding any salary revision w.e.f 2005.just a humanitarian considerataion???????
the institute never thought of increasing the stipend but they immediately got the idea of increasing the fees. It is very sad to say that now the icai is not concentrating on study infact on making money.
I completely agree with Megha. What we receive is even less than minimum wages act. I suggest that there should also be a Grievance Cell to complain against those Firms which behave poorly with articles and make them slog for what is more than just.
Definatly you have right to ask this question to ICAI. "GLORIOUS amount of 1000" is seems to be 80's stiend no !!!! Lol.
