Amount paid for stamp duty and registration charge will be added to cost of land. When you sale the said land will be reduced for computing Capital gain.
Amount so paid will not be allowed as rebate under the Income Tax Act right now.
you can claim the stamp duty charges under 80c subject to a maximum of 1.5 lakhs
Sorry.
As per Section 80C(2)(xviii)(d) you can claim deduction for stamp duty, registration fee and other expenses for the purpose of transfer of such house property to the assessee.
Provided such house in question is chargeable to tax under the head "Income from house property" [or which would, if it had not been used for the assessee's own residence, have been chargeable to tax under that head].
