SRCC Student gets 32 Lac package

4103 views 8 replies

Today only I read in newspaper that a B.A. Honours (Economics) student of SRCC has got job offer of Rs. 32 Lac by Deutsche Bank. Wow! that's a stagerring amount to begin with and that too for an economic graduate. This definitely shows that if one has right amount of talent even without professional degree ( i don't consider B.A. Economics as professional degree) one can achieve higher scales in career. It's high time that professional in accounting & finance start raising their bar as well and gets good packages. Even domestic companies needs to change their mindset and must understand that professional competency should be rewarded suitably. What are the forum member's  views on this ?

Indeed  a Tiger Woodesian debut....I- Banking is back...

The point to be noted is that the chap is an SRCC student..    SRCC boasts one of the highest cut off marks in the country. He is to be trained in London- a plum posting.

I agree that the guy in question must have extraordinary academic career along with dynamic talent.  My point is that now is the high time that other talented professionals are also paid suitably since many of the talented individuals known to me are been paid miserably low. This guy certainly need to be congratulated to raise the bar to such a level.

Hello Raju,

Thanks for providing the link.

 My Pleasure, Kamal

I feel that other professions especially CAs are paid reasonably.

The pay depends on various things, qualifications is one small factor. Other factors include, experience, attitude, luck, contacts etc.

To know more see the "BUFFET" formula on my blog i.e. kraichura.caclubindia.com/blog.

Well, at the end of the day, economics works out.... There is absolutely no reason why an accounting, audit and finance ( I banking, consulting & project finance guys excluded ) professional should be paid that much if he is not going to add that much value to the company.............. Whether B A In eco qualifies as a profession or not depends upon a number of factors. Calling it as NOT a profession only considering that it is just a graduate degree would be immature...... Also, guys, we need to have a look at the BA Eco course placements of SRCC of the last few years...... 20 year old kids have beaten qualified and dual degreed CA's almost every year since their placements started......
