if rajesh makkar notes u can arrange ... u need not look at anything .... 

but thse are available in delhi only

as per the many discussions already which have been taking place here in cci 

AN shridher has been given an edge over SD Bala

Its upto each individual what he prefers, popular opinion need not always be beneficial to you....

i am reading this only and i found it better for concepts and especially their concept problems after every concept is excellent..........

SD bala is better book for learning the conceptual part in an easy way. AN Sridhar also good

@ Vivek - Sir, I am definitely not going for tutions... So i really want to choose that kind of book where concepts are explained in a simple manner and has got enough illustrations to carck the exam... I heard that SD Bala though recommended by ICAI has got many mistakes? Is it true? Also on the other side I have heard that AN Sridhar lacks some chapters like Derivatives, etc.. is that also true??

SD Bala  is a student friendly book, it contains good number of illustrations to understand the concepts well. But on the other hand AN Sridhar book is also good but not student friendly as SD Bala..  I am not aware about the mistake and errors which is crept with SD Bala

search other threads as well in this cci forum ... there are lot of earlier threads where it has been mentioned that SD Bala has some mistakes built in 

since i have not seen either of them i cant say that 

i advise people who have hand on experiance should tell with such confidence which one to be opted

i have done rajesh makkar ..... and one of friends who was neither satisfied with bala nor shrider got satisfied with it as well

so ask more people before buying any of them 

I think the mistake portion is not high and you can safely use this book for self learning..

Yeah if anybody has used SD Bala book and has found mistakes, plz do tell and also I would advise to mail the authors personally so that such mistakes are not repeated in the next editions...
