Setting off liabilities in quarterly gst?

Hi Experts,

Please help me with this query.

Can we set off inward invoice ITC against outward invoices for any date falling between oct to dec.

or it has to be set off with in the same month? as in ITC for Oct inward invoices cannot be set off

against November outward invocies. 

Please let me know what will be the right scenario?
