My self and my are senior citizens above 60 years. We both file ITR1 every year separately and get assessed. We take floater health insurance policy and pay a premium of Rs.75000 from our joint account. Can we claim deduction under section 80 D Rs.37500 each in our individual returns? Can you please clarify.

Yes, provided the receipt is also in joint name.

Who has paid the premium amount?

As long as the receipt is likewise in joint names, then yes.   basketball stars

If it is in joint account then there will be both names on the policy document..
