Response to defective return notice

We got a notice for defective return for AY 2020-21. However, we are not getting any option to file a revised return in response to this.

How to file return in response to this notice under new portal.

Have you checked any option under 'Pending Actions' .......... Sub tab --- 'E-Proceeding' or 'Worklist'???

In my case it is showing under ' E-Proceeding tab'. I have agreed with their query/ defect.  Thereafter , asking for X M L file. Under what section a fresh return has to be filed? This is for AY 2020-21.  Need I to download fresh ITR -3 for AY 2020-21 under new portal ?

Yes, Upload the correct XML and Click the Submit button. Generate the XML by choosing 'Filed in response to notice u/s' as '139(9)'in the ITR utility.

I have downloaded a new ITR-3 fir the AY 2020-21,but there is no option to choose " Filed in response to notice u/s as '139(9)' in the ITR utility.

I lodged complaint through Grievance Tab few days back, but no response yet.

Though It would be out of way, but try uploading the XML file u/s. 139(5) ...

I have been trying for the last one week- uploading the X M L. file u/s 139(5). It says " you are not authorised to do so". To-day, I find that under e-proceeding tab, "submit" option is disabled.

File complain under Grievance for not able to prepare return u/s. 139(9), and ask for extension of time to reply.

Once 'Tab' opens file the return u/s. 139(9).

It gets opened for the assessee to whom defective notice sent. (under compliance).

Please wait rectification tabs not available now, only reprocess itr is available and one more u/s 234 , you can register grievance but may not give result, any mistake normally can be repaired after uploading revised ITR , new system still not available as rectification tabs missing.

I have 5 cases of TDs mismatch, by mistake the person who helped to file return he inserted credit to others against credit to self , more he filled pan of others, don't know from where he got pan numbers, normally 26 as bolta have only TAN, even if you file for others then ITR utility should not calculate TDS paid, may be utility error, any way we have to submit rectification process. Portal is dead for rectification under 143, 154, etc
