They say that the amount is already credited.
BUT THE ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED ABOUT 2 MONTHS BACK. AS THE ASSESSEE IS A BANK EMPLOYEE AND RETIRED.
Now.....? next.....ssugest immediately as the assessee is calling every day morning ....afternoon....evening.
I think if the account is closed then any transaction in such account such as debit or credits doesn't accept through ECS or online or by nefty or by RTGS or by the bank staff etcc.(i.e any way) then when the credit is rejected by the Payee account through ECS then it autometically revers to the payer account or it would be in suspense account and pending to credit as per the bank records. So You are saying the assessee is bank employee so it is not a big issue to such person to identify the transaction status where it is. So based on the referance no and with the help of the transaction no of SBI(please collect it from SBI,Bombay if not available with you) he can trace the transaction status and then he can take the necessary action on which way he has to take credit it or return to the payer.
