Proprietorship concern registration

I cant understand.......

well as far as i know it depends on the which law it is covered by for e.g in case of companies u have to get ur name registered in Roc... for proprietorship there is no such single law coverering proprietorship concerns hence no specific restriction for eg there r many general stores or sweet shops in the same city with the same name but maybe if such concern is registered for say service tax and under that act applies for registraion no. then the name conflict may arise... though i am not very sure about service tax act .... but i am quite sure that as far as proprietorship is concerned no such specific law governs them.. and hence limits the name...
