we are having a company in ludhiana punjab. the company is also having a branch office in mumbai. there is no professional tax in punjab but in maharastra there is profession tax . so pls tell me whether our organisation needs to be registered in maharastra professinal tax act. if yes pls also state that can we do this online?

Yes your organisation is need to be registered.
There is no online facility provided by the Sales Tax department of Maharashtra for getting Profession Tax Number online. The online facility is for getting tax Payer Identification (TIN) no. for sales tax purpose.
