Preventive health check up under sec 80d

Sir,

I work for a company which has no medical reimbursement as a component.

I would like to avail preventive health check up for Rs 5000/- as allowed under sec 80D but at the same time if I do not take a medicalim policy, will I get the exemption on Rs 5000/-

In case my company has medical reimbursement policy let me know whether this claim can be submitted as medical expenditure
