can anyone explain me why prevalidation required in income tax portal, both for demat and bank account

Income tax refund will be directly credited to bank account if your bank account is prevalidated.
U can also e-verify your IT return by OTP on registered Mo No. with bank/demat account, if your demat/bank account is prevalidated
