can a service provider pay direct tax also???????????

Hi , please have the clarification of the question , what are you trying to ask , whether you want that on the services provided the income tax will be levied or not , if this is the question then Yes , and it will be taxable under the head income from bussiness or profession .

I would like to make one thing very clear that the service tax is the indirect tax and the final burden of the same shall be borne by the service receiver and not borne by the service provider , it means if no tax is levied on service provider then he will have the exempt income as the amount of service tax is collected from receiver and he will pay it to the credit of the government .

income tax pay if you earn income more then exemption limit ,whether it is service provide or not ,direct tax applicable all individual

but if you talk about service tax then service tax exemption limit up to 10 lakhs ,service tax is a indirect tax

The objective of levying direct and indirect tax are very different. One objective of direct tax is that it creates equality and indirect tax do not create equality.

Direct tax is paid by rich and indirect tax is paid even by poor.

If service provider by providing service becomes rich, he shall also pay income tax. If he becomes super rich he shall also pay wealth tax. Both income tax and wealth tax are part of direct tax.

One of the learned students has mentioned, liability of indirect tax falls on service receiver and not on service provider. Agreed. But what happens if SR do not pay the tax then it falls on SP.

Yes why not,payment of service tax covered under indirect tax.but up to Rs 10 lack no question of service tax,known as small service provider.

income of assessee if exceed than examption limit,then question of income tax arise.applicable to individuals.
