Quick Summary
Article had incorrect new tax regime slabs. Correct slabs for FY 2025-26 start with Nil up to Rs 4 lakh, then 5 percent for Rs 4-8 lakh, 10 percent for Rs 8-12 lakh, increasing in Rs 4 lakh slabs up to 30 percent above Rs 24 lakh.

Vinay is spot on. The official New Tax Regime for FY 2025-26 (and Budget 2026) starts with a ₹4 Lakh nil-tax base, with the brackets increasing in ₹4 Lakh increments up to a maximum of 30% for incomes over ₹24 Lakh.

I pointed out the HUGE MISTAKE to the writer of the article, Mr Pranab, yesterday, immediately after the article was posted and requested him to repost after correction.

He still has not done it and would confuse all giving totally wrong info.

He claims to be an expert and expects clients through this site !!!!!

Refer to the following giving correct slab rates for FY2025=26[AY2026-27] :-

Hello All

My response was specifically in agreement with Vinaya’s correction and was intended to support the correct slab structure highlighted by him. I did not intend to validate the incorrect “3–6 lakh @ 5%” mentioned in the original article.

To clarify, I fully agree that the correct New Tax Regime slabs start from ₹4 lakh (Nil) and proceed in ₹4 lakh increments as rightly pointed out. My comment was only endorsing that correction.

Apologies if my earlier reply caused any confusion.
