Surely you can go for cs as it is beneficial to have dual degree in job market moreover it will enhance your knowledge in corporate legal world.

It will have 15 months training which you can go for either after executive stage or professional stage as per your choice.  For details refer the brochure of cs course at following link

https://www.icsi.edu/webmodules/student/Brochure/CS%20Brochure%20for%20Regular%20Course.pdf

One more thing, if you register before feb 28, you can appear for both groups of executive stage in dec 10 (if you are a graduate) and if you register after feb but before may end you can appear for one group in dec 10

hi ....

you can get the benefit of CS in both your practice as well as in JOB also.....

Its very simple course as compared to CA.

you just need to refer min last 8 years papers as well as scanner.

and 1 more thing u need not to take training. Training is required only if you want to do practice like CA but you are also doing CA so you can do practice for either CA or CS so better option is not to do training for CS...

ok...thanks....n mohit one more thng...whts LCS?

I referred the brochure uploaded by Mohit . I was not able to get clarity on requirement of Compulsory Training of 18 months . Do we have to undergo training ? When do we have to Undergo training ? After completing Executive programme or Foundation Programme ???

yeah...evn i m confused regarding training requirements....

hi... as we are doing  CA also so there is no compulsion to under go for training......

TRAINING IS REQUIRED TO GET C.O.P FOR DOING PRACTICE ONLY.

HERE WE CAN SAY THAT WE CAN WRITE OUR DEGREE AS CS BUT WE CAN'T WRITE AS

      " CS NAME"

Mansi -

LCS - Its an abbreviation for Licentiate Company Secretary.  It shows that the concerned person has completed his cs (cleared final exams) but haven't started/completed his training.

There is no compulsion for training.  Only if you want to go for job as CS or want to practice as cs or in other words if you want membership of institute only then you need to go for training.

You can go for training either after passing executive stage or professional stage, not after foundation.  And as i said above if you dont want membership you need not to go for training, instead you can apply for licence like me.

thank mohit....n gr8 yaar....ure a lcs as well as a ca final student...impressive....all my due respects to u..

i AGREE WITH HIM

Thnx mansi, you are new at this forum.  Soon u will see there are many others here who are more qualified than me having 3-4-5...even more degrees under their belt...

hopefully  i'l continue the trend....

CS along with CA is very helpful; not only because of degree addition but also from the prospects of Knowledge as well. CS course give u a thorough understanding of various Laws, Regulation, Legal Drafting, Secretarial Practice etc.

My many friends are doing CS along with CA and they have finding it very much compatible with their study pattern and a good supplement to their knowledge of Company LAW. If you too think that carrying both the professional course is not a big deal for you then you too should pursue it as it will enhance your market value at the end of the day.So think twice before putting both the hands in the tight bowl. Wishing Best of Luck

thanks to all 4 helping me out...
