Thanks for the reply.  USB driver and signature utility are in place with admin rights.  Could you please explain data alignment for profile migration?

DSC registration on TRACES has a few steps that trip people up.

Step-by-step:
1. Login to TRACES (www.tdscpc.gov.in) as Deductor
2. Go to Profile > Update DSC ,  NOT the register link on the homepage
3. Select the correct DSC from the token (must be Class 3 DSC with valid date)
4. Register using the deductor PAN, not the CA or authorised signatory PAN
5. If the system shows DSC already registered, use the RESET DSC option first

Common issues:
- Expired DSC: TRACES rejects even if your MCA or income tax DSC is still valid ,  each portal has independent registration
- Wrong profile role: DSC must be registered under the Primary User, not a sub-user
- Java or browser issue: TRACES DSC utility works best on Internet Explorer 11 or Chrome with the NSDL DSC utility installed
