Hello .. If in VAT Registration, name of proprietor is "X" and in GST if we want to keep name of proprietor as "Y" .. then can we keep new name in GST migration straightaway or not ? if not, then any other option is available ?

as gst regn is based on PAN and provisional id is already issued with PAN u cannot change the name of the proprietor. Alternate is to apply for fresh regn in the GST portal from 25th june.
But existing VAT Registered dealer are required to compulsorily migrate to GST. So if we are obtaining new GST Regt. then for same party there will be 2 GSTIN. Which is incorrect.
you have option to cancel the Vat registration of X before 30th which automatically cancels provisional id. u may also cancel the gst provisional id within 30 days from the appointed date.
