Mediclaim under Section 80 D

I have bought insurance cover for my senior citizen parents above 70 years under group health plan from my firm on co payment basis for 2020-2021. Unfortunately, I had to seek expense reimbursement as my mother went hospitalization. As per T&C of plan I was eligible for reimbursement of only 85% of expenses. Can I claim non-reimbursed amount from my tax liability for FY - 2020-21

Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether unreimbursed medical expenses from a co-payment group health plan for senior citizen parents can be claimed under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act. The consensus is that the non-reimbursed 15% of expenses is not eligible for deduction. For specific ailments, Section 80DDB might be relevant, but this requires checking eligibility criteria.

No you can't claim it.
No you can't

What was the ailment? Only specific diseases are eligible. You can refer section 80DDB (along with rule 11DD)
