Measures of central tendency

I was referring a chapter of STATISTICS pertaining to Standard XI. It is a scoring subject but very little persons know its practical use.

.

The book of my daughter remained open and she is now sleeping.

.

As I have interests in so many subjects hence I have decided to write somewhat differently on the topic of Measures of Central Tendency.

.

Generally it is believed that Mean,Median & Mode are easy to calculate. Hence nothing interesting is there except to score high marks in the subject.

.

There are so many points to consider these Mean, Median and Mode in our practical life.

.

Please have a look and comment.

.

1. Mean talks about average.

.

It is not pertaining to central tendency.

.

General people are covered under Mean.

.

It does not MEAN  that they are placed centrally.

.

2. Median  talks about value located in the MIDDLE, i.e. perfectly positioned at CENTRE.

.

It is denoted by letter M. The letter M itself is perfectly placed centrally in the alphabets.

.

It is 13th letter out of  26.

.

3. Mode talks about REPEATED VALUE. It means it shows EXPERIENCE.

.

If a particular event happens regularly in a certain MODE (style), we say it is MODE.

.

Here we can't say it is AVERAGE or CENTRALLY PLACED.

.

IMPORTANT :

Generally it is believed that MODE is so easy to calculate.

.

Since it is so easy hence it has no s(m)uch value.

.

That is why very few people give importance to the experience in their own practical life.

.

Whatever is clearly established; hardly few people follow.

.

It can be said that they come under MEAN category of not following the experience.
