As per Section 149, a company can have maximum of 15 directors. Can appoint more than 15 directors by means of special resolution

The Maximum number of directors in the private company is 15. However, the company can appoint higher number by passing special resolution. Check articles of association of private company,  they can specify maximum number of directors less than 15 not over 15.
