What action should be taken by the assessee if he is in receipt of income tax refund cheque bearing an account number which is already closed by him?

He is in need to file an application with his Ward for change of Account No. along with photocopy/original of Cheque and Processing/ Intimation issued.

Then, accordindgly after considering the same, department will change the account no. in his system and send a request of change to its Banglore centre, and you will get fresh cheque by post after short period
