Is it mandatory for an online website to form a company/llp?

Hello there,

I'm curious whether a website has to necessarily be a legal entity i.e. form a LLP/Company out of it? Note that the website could be a general content delivery website and not into selling tangible products.

I understand that may really not be necessary technically on the first day however, what if it becomes a business over time and the site starts selling some sort of Premium online services and we'd like to protect the brand identity? Will a trademark be enough or does it really have to become a distinct identity by forming a Company/LLP?

Thanks.

It is not compulsory to form any legal entity to run any website. But if in future your site become popular then it is better to get it registered by declaring it during filling company registration form for opening any type entity.

Not necessary the website be a Company/LLP, but its always better to have a seperate Legal Entity
