Hi, I am 18 and will be giving my IPCC both groups in May 2012. Right from class 7 I am interested in Financial Markets. I am planning to do the NSE courses after my IPCC gets over. Can you please guide me as to wether a CA can work as a trader at Investment banks.. Or is an MBA needed for it?

Hi Raghav, NSE courses wont give you the knowledge required for being a trader or an investment banker. A CA can definitely work as a trader at an i-bank, provided he has the required sill to become one, which can be acquired if learn how to trade using charts....which according to my knowledge wont be provided in any MBA course....you can do an MBA for getting into the fundamentals....learning how things happen and all that....but if you want to be a full-time trader you would have to learn how to read the technical charts...hope i answer your question.

Yes ma'am.. I got the point you want to convey. I currently trade stocks based on charts. ( From the past 2 years ) and once my IPCC gets over, I qill start trading currency derivatives too. My parents are supportive though noone in my family has ever even bought a stock. But I know my knowledge on technicals is very low compared to what it is required to be a professional in it.

Also, can you suggest me the best broker for currencies in India. I don't think my equity broker Motilal Oswal is good for currencies. Also, any suggestion on courses on technicals and fundamental analysis of markets which might be for around 4-5 months?
