Intimatio n u / s 1 4 3 ( 1 ) o f t h e i n c o m e t a x a

Hello Tax Gurus,

I am salaried person and working in a private company

I have received INTIMATIO N U / S 1 4 3 ( 1 ) O F T H E I N C O M E T A X A C T , 1 9 6 1 and TOTAL INCOME TAX REFUND shows a amount of Rs. 20,000. But in next section "ADJUSTMENT OF REFUND AGAINST DEMAND OUTSTANDING*" the same amount is adjusted against demand.

The intimation letter also shows a note at bottom of letter as follows:

The Outstanding Demand payable in your case is adjusted against the refund determined above, and this
may be treated as intimation in terms of Section 245 of the Income Tax Act 1961.
If you are not satisfied with such adjustment, you may seek rectification u/s 154 with your Jurisdictional Assessing Officer
or CPC wherever the original demand of such Assessment Year was created.

My question here is how can I get refund of this amount?

Please advice.
