Industrial training after 18 months of articleship.

As per the new draft issued by icai, a ca article is eligible to go for industrial training just after 18 months of articleship for min. 9 to max. 18 months.
For eg. An article trainee goes for 9 or 12 months of industrial training after 18 months of articleship. So the remaining time will be 9 months and 6 months respectively of 3 yrs of articleship.

Now, will the firm allow such article who had a gap from articleship to again serve for 9 or 6 months after industrial training? (Because his consistency is lost right?)
