Income tax return for self employed it professionals ?

Hi,

I am a freelancer and I am working for a London based IT company which sends me my funds directly into my current/checking bank account in India. The funds I get are in my company's name. I live in Chandigarh. I want to file income tax return. What would be the best profile for me to apply for PAN card etc. so that I have to pay minimum tax ? I have tried contacting several people but they don't know much about the funds that are coming from abroad. Please suggest.

I live in Chandigarh and I am not an NRI. I am Indian Resident. I am working in Chandigarh but working online for a London based company which sends me funds monthly in my Current Account. Please let me know how to file return and in which category to apply PAN to save tax.

Thanks

Being a Resident your income is taxable, hence you need to apply for PAN.

If they are paying you salary then i think they are not deducting TDS from it. So you should file your returns & pay tax by self. Hire a professional if required.

Thanks
