ICAI should give more opportunity to women

Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid today asked accounting regulator ICAI to give more opportunity to women in the chartered accountancy profession. Addressing the 62nd Foundation Day celebration of the ICAI, which falls under the aegis of the MCA, Khurshid said, "Like in Parliament, there should be 33 per cent reservation for women too in the profession.

ICAI should work on giving more opportunity to women." He further said that chartered accountants have brought great laurels to India and the nation is very proud of such an outstanding institution.

Every year, the 1st of July is celebrated as the Foundation Day of ICAI, as it was on this day in 1949 that Parliament passed the Chartered Accountants Bill. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rehman Khan said the profession should not be restricted to auditing the accounts of corporates or businesses, but should also be allowed to audit public finance or government spending.

Highlighting the qualities of the profession, ICAI President Amarjit Chopra said that it is inspired by ethics and the desire to excel. He added that integrity and non-stop addition to skill sets will pave the path to professional excellence.

The ICAI has over six lakh members and trains about eight lakh students every year.

I AM AGAINST RESERVATION.........OF ANY KIND........

Dear All,

With due respect to all ,  i would like to say    PLEASE KEEP  CA   Profession   away   from   CHEAP POLITICS    of    Reservation.

WE  CAs  and all students are proud that whosoever   is Hard working , intelligent ,  withstand pressure   ONLY  becomes CA    .

Reservation of any kind should be OPPOSED  full heartedly.

THANKS.

Mr. Minister's statement is merely a political statement.

Reservation is called for where there is a limitation of seats etc. There is no limit to no of CAs/Members that the country can have.

Further reservation is called for whereever there is gender discemination. This is not the case with the institute.

By making such a statement, Mr. Minister has undermined the dignity of the Institute, in my view.

THERE IS NO NEED FOR RESERVATIONS IN CA PROFESSIONAL COURSE ATLEAST

Politics have spoiled india

and it look like it is spoiling icai as well

Y don't they start a draw for entrolling new members

pay fees and registered for the draw.................lol

earlier iit and now icai. God will have a mercy on India

hi......... this is bullsh*t. I never understand why our institute call ministers for thier celebrations . institute have his own identity , i am proud to be the member of this institute & by the name of reservation they are playing game.

our girls are very intelligent & i don't think so they need any reservation.

Politicians are  destroying the education system .

I agree with ranjeet that girls are intelligent & we dont need any reservation.

We have Capabilities to succeed..........

THANK YOU SEEMA FOR SHOWING YOUR POSITIVE APPROACH TOWARDS THIS ISSUE BRING OUT BY ICAI AND MINISTERS.........

I AM AGAINST RESERVATION.........OF ANY KIND........

If i am not wrong reservation elsewhere is at the time of admissions to that course n here we have a free entry. Where the heck  he wants reservation. In final results of any institution I dont think there are any reservations..

reservation are for those who dont have guts and capability to do...

according to me,girls are capable to do ca....

reservation is a form of discrimination....and it divides the society, thus creating barriers amongst the ppl involved...

Im sure that any such step, if taken by the ICAI, will be highly opposed by all the students (including girls)...

as far as I know....when the answer sheets are checked, the sheet is given a serial number and the instructions specifically mention that no where on the sheet should a student write his/her name...

So, how will the assessor know whether he is checking a male/female's paper??

marks are alloted on the basis of performance in the paper... and no other criteria...

CA Ko Kele bechnewale samaj rakha hai kya????????????? koi v kar saken.
