ICAI Injustice

I am here to tell you very interesting(unfortunate) incident of my friend which happened yesterday(I came to know today):

My friend had appeared for PCC exams in June 09, along with me.

A brilliant student he was, scored 346/600, but only scored 24 in IT/SM.

He was heartbroken,as he had to give costing/FM and IT/SM again (scored 63 in taxation).

He gave his IT/SM paper for rechecking and appeared his exams again.

When PCC results for Nov 09  were declared, his results were not found on website.

Mumbai office told him to enquire at Delhi. When he did so, yesterday the response came that he had cleared his exams in June 09 itself !!!

Institute had by mistake typed his IT/SM marks as 24 instead of 42 !

So now his June 09 marks go up to 364, which is extraordinary.

But now what about the 1 month leave he had taken to study? What about the 5 months extra stress he had to go through? What about the sadness his parents had to bear.

He was far successful than me then(I scored 341/600) , but his success wasnt sweet as mine...

Now how will ICAI compensate for it?

I think ur friend should not sit on his back and accept the erring institute. He should file a letter to the president and ask for regularising the articleship period and add back the leave as regular articleship. Also, the same should also be brought to the notice of Board of studies....!!!!!!!!!!

true injustice......... if it's real case...........

WOW... I can't blev this. We now understand that the dept of the ICAI that issues the admit cards has nothing to do with the dept releasing the results.

There seems to be some lack of internal coordination. Anyway. Wow. Poor friend of yours had to go through failure and the effort of going through applying again, studying again and all that.

All the best for final to both of you.

yes, ashish is right............

Its better tat, the matter is taken to law. It may b a small error for inst, bt as a student it is nt so easy to accept it.

I think  u should write to media for this unfare practice by th institute so that atleast for the next time they will be more careful about result.

I think your friend should first write to the institute and ask them for compensating the articleship period for the leave taken and if the institute disagrees with him then its better to consult an advocate, file a petition and proceed accordingly. The institute should consider this issue seriously and compensate the student at any cost.

THANX FOR UR REPLIES...

WILL TELL MY FRIEND TO VIEW THIS POST FOR SUPPORT....!!

its no use....

The site says" Roll No. not found. Please try again"

& anyways, had it been my no., i would have given it....but why to risk my friend?

Firstly Congratulations To Both Of You Specially To Your Friend. You Must Put His June & November 2009 Roll Number To The Thread So That This Kind Of Mess-up May Be Made Public And No Other Student Has To Go Through Any Thing Like This...

You Should File An Application To The Board Of Studies And Ask The Reason For Such Big Mess-Up And Should Compensate Your Friend In Terms Of His Loss Of Articleship Period

ICAI Must Accept Their Mistake In Their Monthly Journal And Give Him A Public Apology In The Same..

Yes, Pradip Srinivasan is correct. First you have to apply Institute for compensation for study holidays. If Institute reject the application, you may apply for CONSUMER COURT.

the matter should be referred to court.........its not just an error or mistake..........its a question of someone's career  n life  at large ..........the victim must be compensated at once
