hello dear,
For direct taxes amendment made by the act 2010 and notifications upto april 2011 remains applicable.For indirect taxes amendment made by the act 2010 and notifications upto april 2011 remains applcable. Generally amendment made by the finance act in case of indirect taxes becomes applicable from next day onwards, so all the rules amended becomes applicable from next day of budget. But the amendment made in the case of act are applicable after consent of president which take a minimum of 75 days, so amendment made in the act becomes applicable from june of next year. As changes in the direct taxes are mostly in acts so it takes longer time and becomes applicable from next year june.
For relevant books on this wait for the result of ca final exams as most of the teachers bring out their publication after the results. Or u can try amendment module of dippak gupta(idt) or vinod gupta (dt).

The amendment made in the rules of idt (excise,custom,service tax) by FA 2011 are applicable.

In the last edition of student newsletter of icsi they have clearly mentioned that FINANCE ACT 2010 will be applicable for the DEC 2011 exam.
But i think they will change this notification as soon as possible .Bcoz in ca exam also fr nov 11 Finance act 2010 is applicable.
