Latest Railway Budget

 

  • No changes in traveler fares.
  • For Mumbai AC Local Trains are started.
  • In average freight rates 5% exploration.
  • Launching of 67 new express trains.
  • Extension of 58 train routes.

Initiation of IT

  • For staff services and for passenger, Adhar card to be used.
  • Timing of internet ticketing from 0030 to 2330 hours.
  • Through mobile phones e-ticketing is available.
  • Providing updates on reservation status regarding SMS alerts to passengers.
  • Under real time information system larger number of trains is covered.
  • Next-Gen E-ticketing system are capable of handling 7200 tickets per minute against 2000 & at the same time 1.20 lakh users against 40,000 now.

 

Trains

  • Launching of 67 new express trains.
  • Launching of 5 MEMU services, 8 Demo services and 26 new passenger services.
  • Extension of 57 train routes.
  • 24 trains frequency is increased.
  • Sub-urban services/ metropolitan projects.
  • In 2013-14 1st Ac EMU rake is introduced on Mumbai suburban networks.
  • 72 additional services in Mumbai and 18 in Kolkata are introduced.
  • Rake length extends from 9 cars to 12 cars for 80 services in Kolkata and in Chennai 30 services.

 

TRAFFIC PROPOSAL

  • From 1st April 2013 Fuel Adjustment Component linked revision for freight tariff is implemented.
  • Increase in supplementary charges for reservation fee, super fast trains, clerkage charge, tatkal charge and cancellation charge.
  • Enhanced reservation fee cancel.

      Amenities of Rail/Passenger User’s

  • 104 important stations for immediate attention towards all the aspects related to cleanliness are identified.
  • Bio-toilets on trains are progressively extended.
  • For quality washing of linen, 8-10 more laundries are mechanized.
  • On several train free wi-fi connections are provided.
  • Electronic display boards and announcement facility in trains.
  • First aid services are also provided at railway station.
  • Facility to passengers to contact with staff board through SMS/e-mails/ mobile phones.
