Yeah, there is a discrimination based on knowledge level and how willing one is towards hard work it requires.

thanks guys...but roohi agarwal is the exception...bcos she managed to get a rank....and everybody can't be a rank holder...i want to know in a general case....if i choose chartered accountancy as a career....being a girl...do it provide the same career growth to me....as in the other professions...

hey shreya hats off to ur thought yaar....women nowadays are thinking sky as their limit but u r an exception to tis....der are many women ca's ruling the world.....NAINA LAL KIDWAI...hope u havnt heard her name coz if u had heard u would never have posted tis topic in this forum....the top rankers fot the past 5-6 yrs in ca hav been girls......ca has nothng to do wid gender discrimination......ca cs cwa are the only courses wich are unbiased = gender/caste/race.....but if don't study at all, dont give in ur 100%, do dummy articleship etc(if in case).....and say tat being a girl ca has been biased to me concerning by career growth den u are the best judge for urself....best wishes........

Now days thinking is changing and women are given more priority due to their sincerity, Hard working and management skills. Though some firms may give priority to males which require frewuent travelling, staying outstation for outstation assignments etc.

But overall in professional courses like CA, if you have knowledge, than even discrimination wont stop you from acheiving your gaol.

Whosoever has warned you about this is either not seen the placement statistics or is unaware of the placement process....in fact I can say you that female canditates in accountancy profession gets more attractive job than male candidate given the knowledge comes first...so dont go by the crap rumours and concentrate on studies..
