what is the diff. between HDC and holder w.r.t. negotiable instruments act,1881??

-A holder and an hdc both have possession of a negotiable instrument
-but a holder in due course is not affected by any defect of title onthr part of transferor or on the part of any previous holder of the instrument while such is not the case with holder
