Govt announce dates for Budget 2011-12 and budget session

The budget session of Parliament will begin on Feb 21 and the general budget is slated to be presented to Lok Sabha on Feb 28.

The decision to recommend the date for convening of the session to the President was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) chaired by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who is also Leader of the House in Lok Saba.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister P K Bansal told reporters that other details relating to the session will be worked out shortly.

The session starts with the Address of the President to a joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament, which is a statement of the government’s policies and programmes for the next financial year.

The meeting was attended by Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee, Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi, Law Minister Veerappa Moily and Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran, besides Bansal and Ministers of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy and Ashwani Kumar.

thanks for sharing the useful information

thankyou all of you sir................

Expectation from BUdget 2011:

While in the Budget 2011, the Congress Government may take measures to move a step closer to DTC and be “populist” (in order to save their image in the watermark of scam stories), they would be playing with a double-edged sword, which may hurt them if fiscal deficit displays signs of ballooning. Also with that happening, the opposition (especially the NDA) would get another big opportunity to tarnish the image of the Congress Government, thus putting pressures on Dr. Manmohan Singh to quit.
